1. According to verses 42-45, what characteristics defined the early church?

• Steadfast in the Word and fellowship

• Shared meals together

• Time in prayer together

• Met each other’s needs

• God was active in their midst

• This was HOW they lived, everyday
   

2. Does this sound like the “church” of today? What characteristics define today’s church?

• Not really!

• Large buildings, rockstar pastor’s, comfort and coffee, Sunday/Wednesday experiences, apathy

 

3. What gets in the way of living in true biblical community?

• Busyness, comfort, lack of passion/desire, many have never seen or experienced it, hurt from previous experiences

 

4. What was the heart-attitude of the people in the church of Acts? What was the result? (Verses 46-47)

• Gladness and simplicity of heart, praise to God, favor towards all people.

• Growth! So curious and attractive to everyone around them.

 

5. Why do you think community had this type of impact on them personally and corporately?

• They were living as God designed – together, with Him at the center, in alignment with His purpose.
