God offers us peace that goes beyond anything the world can give. Even in difficult times, we can find peace in Him.
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
— John 14:27 (NKJV)
Have you ever had a tough day where everything feels a little out of control? Maybe you felt worried, frustrated, or just plain tired. We all face challenges, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But here's the good news: God promises us peace!
In John 14:27, Jesus tells us that He is giving us His peace. This isn’t the same peace we get from a good day or a relaxing vacation. This peace comes from trusting that God is with us, no matter what. It’s a peace that stays with us even when things aren’t perfect.
When we feel troubled or afraid, Jesus invites us to turn to Him. He doesn’t want us to carry our burdens alone. Instead, He offers a peace that calms our hearts and helps us face challenges with hope.
Just like Jesus calmed the storm when His disciples were afraid (Matthew 8:23-27), He can calm the storms in our lives. When we trust in His promises, we can find peace in the midst of any struggle.
Have you ever felt peace even during a tough situation? What helped you feel that peace?
How can we remind ourselves of God’s peace when we’re feeling worried or afraid?
When can we pray for peace together as a family today?
Take a moment as a family to pray for peace in your home. Ask God to help each of you feel His peace, no matter what challenges you’re facing. Maybe you could even choose a special place in your home where you can gather to pray together when you need peace.
“Dear God, thank You for giving us Your peace. We trust that You are with us through every storm and challenge. Help us to remember that Your peace can calm our hearts, even when things feel out of control. Give us the courage to lean on You for peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.”
